Rick will be attending the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Conference, gathering in Pisa, Italy on the 16th of April through the 18th.
The ITLS organization is dedicated to the exchange of ideas, protocols and procedures within our EMS system at the international level. The conference not only includes classroom presentations and exhibits, but a scenario based competition between teams drawn from several countries from around the world.
Rick feels honored, being asked to present a 4 hour class, by the Italian Hosts of this Conference.
Rick will be teaching patient packaging and care, utilizing long and short board technologies. The class will include some history of spinal restraint, and move toward today’s protocols and procedures, used in the field today. Weather permitting, practical evolutions will be conducted outside simulating patient extrication from their vehicles.
Following the ITLS Conference, the Italian Chapter Coordinatore, Roberto D’angelo, will take Rick on a tour of Italy’s EMS System, and maybe some tourist sites.
"Hi to all :)
for those that didn't know i was going to Italy ... Hi there, from wonderful Italy :) :)
for those that knew i was traveling ... i'm still here. seems a volcano in iceland has decided to interrupt allllllllllllllllllllllllllll travel plans for pretty much ALL of Europe! the hope is that the volcano will stop, and the wind will blow all the ash away.
until then ... i guess i'll just have to open another bottle of vino, and go with the flow lmao!!! :) :)
